Born in the small plot of “Montelavano” at around 800 meters above sea level, with very low yields, this ancient Sicilian red wine offers intense vinous, fruity and spicy aromas.
This pure Perricone represents for the production area (Alte Madonie) a return to the Sicilian wine scene.
The pedoclimatic conditions of these mountains determine pleasant hints of herbs and dried fruit.
After pressing, the grapes ferment in contact with the skins for approximately 10 days at a controlled temperature. The refinement in second passage barriques, for approximately 10-12 months, refines the taste and enriches it with fruity hints.
On the palate it is savory, warm and balanced, with a strong tannic tone, a pleasant bitterish vein and an incisive and well-defined character, which make it a wine to be enjoyed at the table, combined with substantial and structured dishes such as ragù-based dishes, game, pork, as well as cured meats and mature cheeses.
